Rant: Sociology and the iPhone5

So Leute, heute bin ich echt ***** ****** ****** ...nicht in der besten Laune.
Erstmal bin ich im Hausaufgabenverzug, ich hab noch zu viel zu machen, aber keine Motivation und keine Zeit ( obviously ) dafür. 'Trotzdem' mache ich manche Hausaufgaben sehr ausführlich und gewissenhaft, in der Hoffnung dafür Anerkennung und ein nettes Lächeln vom Lehrer zu bekommen ! *-* ...nein, nicht wirklich, aber ein paar sehr gute Noten wären schon nicht schlecht.

In Sociology haben wir eine mögliche Aufgabe aus dem anstehenden Exam als Hausaufgabe zur Übung aufbekommen. Insgesamt gibt es auf die Aufgabe 12 Punkte, in dem Exam (das übrigens nächste Woche Montag ansteht) gibt es zwei solcher Aufgaben, welche in 90 Minuten geschafft werden müssen. Vorweg gesagt: ich habe 2 Stunden für die Hausaufgabe (ungefähr 500 Wörter) gebraucht und nur 8 Punkte bekommen (also eine 3 oder ein C) ...folglich werde ich nächste Woche Montag ********* ...vielleicht auf Probleme stoßen.
Anyway, ich habe mich entschlossen, meine Hausaufgaben zu posten, um meinen Lesern (euch) zu zeigen, auf welchem Niveau das hier alles läuft.
Anmerkung: als ich das fertig hatte, war ich ziemlich überzeugt, dass das ein A wird...

Homework: Examining class differences 

Outline some of the ways in which marketization and selection policies may produce class differences in educational achievement.

It is said that the marketization of education and additionally the selecting policies of top-schools produce social class differences in educational achievement. To prove this statement we have to look at how education is businesslike, how it affects the selection policies and how each of these produce class differences in achievement.

Marketization means that schools have to compete with each other, that they need a excellent reputation to attract pupils, because pupils are given the freedom of choice of which school they want to attend to. If one school is not doing well and is lacking of students, it will be closed. That is of course the last thing the school wants. They therefore want to increase their image with excellent exam results. Obviously these can be easier achieved by only having high ability students. 

This led to stricter selection policies and a more focused treatment of pupils. 

Grammar schools are known for requiring an test before they allow students to attend to their school. In this way they make sure that they only get the best pupils and exam results. It is much harder for schools which do not have but the best students to get that excellent exam results. They need to focus on different treatment of the pupils according to their chance of being successful, the ‘best’ and the ‘worst’  students are merely not cared about at all because they will pass or fail the exams anyway. The teachers mainly focus on the borderline students, they need additional help and care to make sure that they pass at least pass the exams, they are most important because they make up the majority of the pupils (normal curve of distribution) and can easily change the average result. 

So far so good, but how do these produce class differences? 

Since it is more likely that working-class children are less able in school, they are not favored by this system; working-class children have nearly no chance of attending to a Grammar school and are ignored in normal schools because they are labelled as ‘working-class’ and ‘less able’ by the teachers. 

This becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. As a consequence they start to really fail and reinforce the prejudice ‘working-class is less likely to succeed’ even more. This is contrasted by the treatment of middle-class children who are favored by this educational system because they have the ’right’ social background to have the required qualities and their parents have material and cultural capital to support them. 

To conclude, the system being so competitive favors the better achieving students and ignores the less able. Middle-class children are commonly the better achieving, while the working-class children are commonly the less able. This system advances the gap between these two social classes as the teachers label the children as their social class and predict their chance of success. These predictions become self-fulfilling prophecies and prove the statement to be right.

Selbst mit allen sprachlichen Fehlern, finde ich diesen Aufsatz ziemlich gut... anyway, werde ich mich wohl nächste Woche noch mehr anstrengen dürfen, das Ziel ist ind bleibt ein A. 
Zum Vergleich, die meisten Punkte, die bei der Hausaufgabe verteilt wurden, sind 10. 


Okay okay, jedenfalls war dann nach Sociology auch irgendwann Pause und ich bin in der Pause mal schnell nach Hause gerannt und hab mir mein iPhone5 abgeholt !! :DD geeeeil, wie ich schnell festgestellt habe, braucht man ne SIM Karte, um das Ding zu aktivieren. 

Okay, kein Problem, geh ich eben nach der Schule in die Stadt und hol mir eine.
Achjaaa, wäre es mal so einfach gewesen... nebenbei hab ich mir in der Stadt ne Schutzhülle draufmachen lassen und ein Hartcase geholt, für nur unglaubliche 54 Pound !!! YAAAAY -.-' 

Bei den Geschäften wurde mir gesagt, dass es keine Nana-prepaid-sim-karte gibt und ich deswegen so ne sich jeden monat neu refreshende karte holen muss...okay hab ich kein problem mit, bei ' 3 ' bekomm ich unbegrent internet (wirklich unbegrenzt !! das hat bei mir priorität nummer 1) mit 5000 freiminuten und 200 frei-sms für 12 pound monatlich, wie genial ist das denn ??? will ich haben ??? 
ABER: man bekommt solche karten nur wenn man einen englischen bank account hat, weil darüber der vertarg laufen muss !! 
WOLLT IHR MICH VERARSCHEN ?! 
...d.h. ich muss jetzt mit irgendeiner britischen bank nen termin aushandeln (der wahrscheinlich nach B-Sparkassenart erst in 10 jahren sein wird) und dann da hingehen, wahrscheinlich tausendmal gesgat bekommen, dass ich was vergessen habe... und zwischendurch immer mit meinen eltern unterschrift per post hin-und herschicken, sodass ich dann ende july nächsten jahres mit nem britischen bank konto rechnen kann !! IM ERST JETZT ?! GANZ EHRLICH ?? WAS SOLL DAS ?! 

...so und mit dieser Stimmung muss ich jetzt noch eine Business Studies Hausaufgabe über 'a analyze of functional areas in businesses' machen, die ich nebenbei für unerfüllbar halte, und dann noch die ganzen Informationen für meinen Soziologie-Vortrag zusammensammeln...
..ich glaub ich werd heute zu nichts mehr kommen, und das gemäß Berliner Art morgen kurz vorm Untericht ...zusammenbasteln ...
